It's a lot like Seattle except there are way less people, way more mosquitos, and no coffee shops (that I've found, anyway). And it's not a city. And it's really hot relative to Seattle.

What kind of work would you be looking for? Have you ever been to Gautier/Mississippi? If you move, where are you going to stay?

I don't know you, bro, so it's not for me to be giving advice. In my mind, though, making a coast-to-coast move to Gautier for a long-time girlfiriend sounds a little dicey to me. I don't mean any offense by that, but what happens if it doesn't work out? If she's worth moving all this way for, she's worth putting a ring on. Just my 2 cents.

Gautier is a bit non descript but neighboring Ocean Springs is like a tiny Seattle but warm, sunny, friendly, and coastal.

Smile Happy Living in Gautier, Ms.

Check out "GautierCitizen" posts on this blog forum.

Gautier is a fast growing city. It was incorportated in 1986 and has just celebrated its 25th anniversary. It is located on US Hwy 90, and straddles Interstate 10, which runs from the East Coast to the West Coast, and borders on the Gulf of Mexico. It has as its East boundary, the Pascagoula River, which has the best fishing that can be found in the South. The river has no Commercial Plants, or polluting factors along its banks. It is not a commercial waterway. It empties into the Gulf of Mexico, and Gautier is located at the mouth of the river, making possible for fresh water fishing and salt water fishing. I can step out my back door, get in my boat and be in the Gulf of Mexico in just a few minutes, (depending on what type boat you own). You can fish for any type fish you want. The beaches are with in a short 15 minute drive. If you like Vegas, you will like the local Casinos. There are a dozen Casinos along the Gulf Coast, within a 15 to 20 minute drive from Gautier. If you like to party, the Gulf Coast is the place. If you are a veteran, or retired military, and use VA or military medical facilities, you have a VA hospital and a military hospital close by. If you are interested in education, you have the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College right here in Gautier, Ms. What more could you want. You are 40 miles from Mobile, Alabama, 90 miles from New Orleans, and a two hour drive from the beaches of Florida. Mississippi's largest employers are located within 3 miles of Gautier. (Shipbuilding, Refinery, Chemical Plants, Casinos, Hotels, and too many more to mention here. If you want to work, you can find a job in just about any field of work. GautierCitizen

I know this is an old thread, but I have to chime in seeing how it's been brought to the top. I grew up near Gautier, my first job was in Gautier and I have been to Seattle, several times as it's one of my favorite cities. Gautier, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, etc none of them are anything like Seattle other than they are both near water. The similarities end there. 2 vastly different places.
