Hey gang,

I'm searching for info about the Dominoes After-Midnight Club, a group of adventurous types in the Biloxi/Gulfport area. They did what they called "lurking" which was basically exploring old abandoned buildings and such and drinking beer. It was started in 1995 by some pizza delivery folks, hence the name.

A guy named John Beers (Yes, his real name) was the leader, but I think he died in 2009.

John was my dad. He passed in March of 09. He had just started working at dominoes again before he died and was trying to plan some new lurks. What questions did you have? I realize this thread is a couple years old, but if you still wanted info Ill try to help. Ive got a lot of old pics from their hot spots and even went on a few with them as a kid. Good times.

Wow! Hooray for forum email alerts, or I never would have seen this.

If this is Kyra, I think I also left you a note on the My Hattiesburg site back whenever it was.

I was doing research for a novel set on the gulf coast and came across the old Geocities pages. It was fascinating (to me anyway) and I started digging for more. I have to admit I got kind of obsessed with it. I don't remember when the last update was, but it just abruptly stopped after that. Of course, later I found out why.

John seemed like someone really worth knowing and I'm sorry I missed him.

He did leave his mark on me though. In the novel there's a group of mostly pizza delivery types who hang out under the Biloxi bridge--they call themselves trolls--and there is a lurking scene in the old hospital.

I did come across a few of John's photo credits on some historical sites, and if you haven't seen this, a message he posted on this site:

Everything And Nothing: The Dominoes After-Midnight Club

Thanks so much for responding.
