I would love information on Iuka myself, as well...
I'm interested in Mississippi, hadn't really thought about being that far north, but the picture of that little covered bridge tugged at my heartstring.
I am interested in the weather...tornadoes, rainfall, etc, as well as land availabilities. I'm also concerned about taxes, i.e., property, sales...I sound very needy, but a person has to do their homework. Thank you and have a blessed day!

Moving To Iuka
Hi My Name Is Nick And I Have Lived In Iuka All My Life And There Are Many Reasons To Move And Not To Move To Iuka. We Are One Of The Smallest Towns In Ms. There Is Only One Red Light In The Whole County. The Town Is Dry So That Means No Sales Of Alcohol Of Any Kind Anywhere, I Don't Much Agree With That Since We Are Surronded By Wet Counties In Either Direction. We Have Some Of The Most Beautiful Waters In The Country, Some Of The Best Fishing, Camping , Hiking Etc. Around. As For Questions About Property , Land Tax Findind Land Etc. The Land Intown Is Very Affordable For Land Tax, Land Is Tough To Find Sometimes People Think They Have To Keep There 200 Acre Plot Of Land Because There Great Great Great Grandfather Was Born There. The People In Town Are Very Nice Helpful In Any Way. The Lake Property On The Other Hand Is Very Highly Taxed. The Majority Of The People Living There Are Either Retired Or Have A Very Successful Business Somewhere Else. The Town Is Made Up Of Younger Crowds And Older Crowds By This I Mean Younger As 0-18 And Older As 55-death There Are Not Many Job Oppurtunites There So This Is The Reason For That. I Am 25years Of Age And I Have To Travel 1 Hour And 15 Minutes In One Direction Everyday Day Just For A Good Paying Job. I Think And Hope In The Near Future That The Town Will Boom With Business Beacuse Of The Waters Surronding It And That It Is Off The Hwy.72
I Myself Will Try To Live There For The Rest Of My Life If Possible
I Love This Town I Have Large Family Here With Me I Don't Like To Brag But I Feel Like I Have Alot Of Friends Here. So I Guess I Am Trying To Say That If It Were Me My Bags Would Alredy Be Packed And I Would Be On The Way To Iuka, Ms. Hope That I Helped Answer Your Questions In The Best Way Possible. Nick

I agree with Nick.... My grandmother lives in Iuka and we always look forward to our trips there. It is a beautiful small town. The people are wonderful and as Nick said helpful. Nick is right on the money with the town. Just a thought....it's a lot hotter here than in Canada

My grandmother's name is Mary Laura Cummings Sparks. She is the daughter of Jim Cummings who was the superintendant of the local schools forever ago. My great aunt is Martha Strickland. Her son Keith lives in Iuka and their three daughters Sarah, Katie, and Kellie Strickland are my cousins. Regina Pyle and her sister Angie are also my cousins. Her parents owned a radio station for awhile. That's the nice thing about Iuka....it's true small town Mississippi. Hey...I think we forgot to mention that the Public School system in Tishimingo County is FABULOUS.....one of the best in the states. Nick might know more about that since he probably went to school there.

Iuka
I Know Sara Katie And Kellie Very Well Sara And I Are The Same Age And Went To School Together. Kellie Is Dating My First Cousin Chris And Katie Has Always Been A Friend Of Mine. I Usually See Kelie Alot More Now Than I Use To Since She's Dating Chris. Sara & I Don't See Much Anymore Since She Lives In Starkville Now. The School Was Alright The Reason For Such A School Of That Size Is When Nasa Moved Here It Had So Many People Come With It We Had To Expand And Grow Our School Systems. Now That Nasa Up And Left It's A 4a School That Really Needs To Be About A 2a Or Maybe A 3a School. I Say This Because The Population Isn't Big Enough To Compete In Sports Against Schools Like Oxford, Kossuth, Etc. Consistently. We Had A Very Good Football Season This Year. I Think But Not Sure But It Could Have The Best Season The School Has Seen Yet. The School Has Always Had A Good Girls Softball, Basketball Team. Mr. And Mrs. Strickland Has Always Been Very Nice To Me And I Think The World Of Them. I Would Help Them Anytime, Anywhere. You Have A Very Nice Family And I'm Glad I Know Them. Nick
