Northeast Mississippi
Hi Mandy,
I have lived in northeast Mississippi for 30 years now, and I think it is a great place to live. Origionally from Aurora, IL, I live in Corinth, which is at the Tennessee state line, and one county from the Alabama line. We have a small, historical town, that is 45 minutes from Tupelo, MS, Jackson, TN, which both have great shopping and restaurants, and 1 hour 15 minutes from Memphis, TN, which is a great town to visit for music, shopping and food, and has an international airport. All 3 cities are reached by 4-lane highway, with minimal traffic. I work at our local hospital, and it is a great place to work. Monthly rent is around $300-$400 a month four a house; a little less for apartment. Check out dailycorinthian.net for rental property listings. We are very friendly to "out-of towner's". Please let me know if you have any questions. And no, I don't work for the Chamber of Commerce, I just love our town. Good luck with your decision!

Corinth, Ms.
We visited corinth last year in May! Had a wonderful time there, ate in several restuarants..food was good! People were friendly everywhere we visited. Town looked like it was doing well, busy...had all the bells and whistles of new growth also...Lowes, Walmart etc. Our home is on the market here in New Mexico, and I visit the net weekly looking at houses on the market there and in the surrounding areas...Town won me over, and I like all the Civil War History also. Fishing and Hunting close for my husband.....and not too distant to a Casino once in awhile!

I love the south will be moving there in a few days. My visits there have been super and I can't wait to get there for good. The people there are so friendly and welcoming. Try these sites to get an idea of prices: Margiesmithson.com, Dpmleasing.com, and Enterprise Property Management. You can't go wrong they are all great. The first two can help you with the Northern Mississippi area and the last one can help you with the Tennessee area right on the border. Good luck.

I know the area of TN around there, Savannah/Shiloh area- it is a really friendly, nice place to live. It has some of the BEST catfish fishin' n' eatin' around. and that whole area, TN-MS-AL border is a pretty affordable area to live, but its growing pretty fast...

As a native Corinthian, I moved back about 7 years ago and have found nothing decent in the above mentioned price range. I rent a 3 BR older home on a very busy street for $550/month and consider myself lucky. It will be available in about 2 months as I have bought a house downtown.
