Hi, me and a mate, both 24 from England are driving from Florida to Austin, and would really like any recommendations on where to visit in Mississippi, we only have a a day or so, but just wanted some where interesting or something cool to do. Is there any particular places you highly advise.

Hello, I do not live in Mississippi, but have traveled the Florida to Austin trip. I assume you would be traveling via I-10, and depending on where in Florida you originate, Biloxi, MS is a mid-way point.
Biloxi and the Gulf Coast is known for their beaches, casinos, and seafood. Coming in January, that eliminates the beach. So if you like casinos and seafood, you are set for the day. If that is not to your liking, barring other posts from residents, search on "Mississippi Gulf Coast Attractions", "Things to Do".
Ah, from England? If you like Newcastle Ale, I recommend checking out Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale. It is brewed in Kiln, MS. The brewery offers tours. I have not been on the tour myself, but enjoy their product. That may be worth a few hours of your time, if the tour is open when you are passing through:
