GetEQUAL, a national grassroots social justice organization advocating for LGBT concerns, issued a travel alert for LGBT visitors to the State of Mississippi in response to the possible passage of legislation that potentially pits gay rights against religious freedoms.

Nah. No one really reads an alert like that before they travel. And it's not like gay people wear a sign on their foreheads.

It's a political activist move. They present such "notifications" to state legislatures where they would otherwise have no vote in an attempt to influence legislation. May even work.....

The ineptness or perhaps arrogance of GetEqual is reflected in their mission statement:
Our mission is to empower the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ***** (LGBTQ) community and our allies to take bold action to demand full legal and social equality, and to hold accountable those who stand in the way.

LGBTQ. OK. I've run into that before. That Q on the end stands for "Questioning", according to a Texas tech pamphlet. Urban dictionary agrees.
We already tried the obvious solution to the "Q" problem and most of us don't recommend using 'that' word in presence of non-heterosexual company, lest it result in a permanently disfiguring arse whuppin.
So intelligent people leave off the "Q" nonsense.
But GetEqual does not appear to fall within the definition of intelligent.
