Blues Joints
I play blues myself and I'm a big blues fan. It's kind of a fantasy of mine to someday visit the areas around Greenwood, Avalon, Jackson, Senatobia, over by Helena AR, Highway 61, etc. and see what I could find for small blues joints to hear some live music.
Is this a crazy dream, or do those kind of places still exist?

Check out The Ground Zero Blue Club in Clarksdale, owned by Morgan Freeman.

It's a longtime dream of mine to see the MS delta. If I could ever meet the local Mississippi guys like Honeyboy Edwards or Willie King that would be a dream come true. I think Honeyboy Edwards lives near Greenwood and Willie King and the Liberators are out of Prairie Point but I'm not sure about that.

Marigold, Mississippi - I haven't heard that in about 30 years...there was a bar there when I went to Delta State, The Mattress - guy named Tom Keywood ran it. I know it's not still there? Or was that Alligator, MS?

OMG...So I'm not crazy! I dated the owner in ... 1974? '75? I was in college at Delta State. I was way too young, I know that! I doubt seriously there was much sneaking necessary, if I remember correctly...HA!
