Things are a little tight for me at home. I'm down to about $2000 but I'm trying to transition to a better paying job for about 6-8 months until I leave.

The GRE went well, I did get one competitive score on it, I don't know about the rest but I will find out in a few weeks. If all else fails I'll have to retake it.

But, this Fall I am going to apply to Ole Miss and hopefully make the big move come next Spring.

Is there ANYTHING I should know about?

Apartments, economy, cost of living, wages.

IF my grades go through the way I hope, I won't have to pay for tuition, especially with the Civil War related program I'm looking at. But just general stuff about the town and things across the state I should be aware of outside of my last visit.

I hope you make it. I admire your persistence. I guess you noticed that Oxford is somewhat of a boomtown. I really can't think of anything to add. Apartments and cost of living are about like most places, not that big of a deal. You'll find just about everything you need there but if not you know Tupelo and Memphis are just over an hour away. Basically you just need to jump in and go for it I would say.

I liked it when I saw it. I even have a little group to run around with when I get out there.

But, it's a very big move to make. And I do not have much money to my name.

You are young. Just do it. If its a mistake, move back and start over. Life is full of chances.

2,000 dollars is not enough money. Don't move with less than 10k and then that might be tight. Things can go wrong quickly in a new city..i.e. car breaks down, medical, etc....

That's why I'm trying to switch jobs, one with better pay so that I'll be well above the $2000 mark.

It's not perfect.

But I intend to save up more money before making the jump.

I am willing, but it's not like anything comes without complications. Once my GRE scores come in I'll confer with some of the staff before applying.
