Ummm...not involving burning crosses.

I've lived in Pennsyltucky, New York, Massachusetts. California and the Mid West.

No. This is a slight bit different. More Gothic. Falkner and McCullers. Capote and Lee.

The South has the finest literature in the country. Creative people who are marginalized write so well.

Lord Help Us, we'd never hear the end of it!

Wait a minute! If we move to Urgen, do we have to talk funny?
I'm sure there's already multiple Fergusons in MS ready to blow, just waiting for a spark.

I figured that. It should be changed to include crimes motivated by race.

There is a Ferguson in Mississippi, but it is not a community. It is just a point on a railroad where a paper mill is located.

"Ummmmm"? Dunno what the "ummm" means, but cross burning exists where ever there are self righteous people with meanness and a match. Oregon, too.
Cross burning shocks small Oregon town | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

The link tells the story of a white woman who moved to Oregon with her Black son. Cross was burned.

Predictably, the local official expresses surprise that it could happen "up here".

March 2011, in Arroyo Grande, CA. "A 19-year-old biracial woman found an 11-foot cross BURING outside her bedroom window." You can read the full article on CNN Justice in the article "California town calls in FBI to help investigate cross-burning" by Michael Martinez and Paul Vercammen, CNN. Was apparently stolen from a local Lutheran Church!

I haven't thoroughly researched cross-burnings in California, but I strongly suspect that this is not an isolated incident.

Uh Oh. I stand corrected. The cross was not BURING outside her bedroom window. The cross was BURNING outside her bedroom window.
