My DH is going to take all three test the first of next month! He's going to fly in from Montana, so we had to make it worthwhile. My SIL is testing this Saturday for one of the openings. He has a couple of friends that have either tested and/or gotten a job. One guy said there was the usual math, measuring, that's about all he said. He never heard from them. The test is about 6 hours long. You'll hear from it anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months after you test. If you pass that test, you'll take a hands on test, then, if you pass that one, you go for a interview with Toyota. Don't really know the pay scale but I think it's around 20.00 @hour, maybe more. They won't give you any info until you interview. YOu will go somewhere, maybe Ky, and train for about a year. SIL is going to talk to a guy who got a job and quiz him. If I find out any more info, I'll get back here.

SIL took the multi-skilled test Sat. It's the longest and hardest test. You will be working on the machines in the building. The facilities maint. is working on the building. the pay starts out at 21.00 @hr, goes up in a couple of years to over 25.00 @hr. Lots of questions on metrics and equations. It's all taken on a computer. There have been higher scores in the last two weeks than in the last tow months, don't know what that means, except, I guess, it's better to take the test asap. They don't know how many positions for this job will be hired, but they've hired at least 20 so far. You travel about every two weeks, start out training at Northeast, IJC and the furniture market. They do pay travel expences, meals and room. I don't think you do shift work while you're training. Benefits and retirement are excellent. My ex is an electrician at Cooper tire and says a few of them have taken jobs w/toyota, because the benefits are much better. If I remember/find out anything else, I'll be back.

Okay, DH took the multi skill test today. He said it was hard, like they said it would be. I asked if he could have been better prepared. He said maybe, by studying the electrical stuff more. He just said there was a lot of stuff he didn't know about. We'll see, at least he got the worst one over with. SIL hasn't heard how he did on that same test he took last week.
