Those pics of downtown were taken on a Sunday afternoon, and yes, it is often like that during that time. We live in Mississippi where a large portion of the population goes to church and treats Sunday as a day of rest, so most people stay at home on Sunday afternoons.

More Greenville Pics
Just got back from Greenville. I'll toss in a few more from the trip.
The 1st is a view from the levee where the original Stein Mart once stood.
The 2nd is also from the levee; Downtown Main Street.
The 3rd is the new Hwy. 82 bridge, still under construction.

#1 - Coming up on the old river bridge.
#2 - The Mississippi River from the Arkansas side.
#3 - A jet display at the Greenville Airport. It used to be an Air Force base.

Carolinajack, I agree with NWS that you should give it another chance. There are interracial families all over the urban and rural areas of Mississippi now.
