It is beyond absurd here. I've never seen anything like it -- everyday I see people with their cell phones literally on their steering wheels, texting & driving, doing 70+ miles and hour -OR- texting & driving, going 50 in the 70 lane. Very dangerous!!

In other states where the law is enforced the laws, wow, miracle, people stopped texting and driving! And everyone managed just fine.

By far, Alaska has the strongest penalty: Up to $10,000 and a year in prison for the first offense. California has the smallest minimium fine—only $20 per offense. Four states: Arizona, Montana, South Dakota, and South Carolina, have no bans or penalties for texting while driving.
