Can't say that I remember him. My Dad was military so we didn't live there all the time. We just came back every few years. I was at Calhoun my junior year. Miss Jewell that I asked you about was my aunt. She taught at Calhoun forever.

I moved to Southaven (suburb of Memphis) from Laurel about 3.5 years ago. Laurel is a nice place as long as you're not looking for excitement or a lot of career options. I am not a small town type person, but still miss it from time to time.
Graduated NEJ in 98.

I agree that it is not an exciting place. The older you get, the more you tend to look back at Laurel with appreciation. It was a very nice area to grow up in.

The mountains have been a dream for such a long time, but there seems to have always been some reason for me to stay here until recently. I am so undecided at this time as to where I want to go--will see. Yes, it certainly was odd finding your post.
You are a dog lover, too, which says to me you are good people. Thanks again so much.

The sportsplex and golf course used to all be part of Bear Pen Ranch. I used to go duck hunting there. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Yea, we use to call that road Popcorn Road because of all the loose gravel splashing up under your car while driving. While I have been spending so much time trying to make plans to leave Laurel, sounds like you miss it somewhat--do not think I would--all things change. Sounds like the area you are in is so beautiful--think you made good choice.

I would never move from this area, we really love it here. I do have very fond memories of growing up out in Calhoun. It was a different time, you could't recapture it today.
