I was looking at getting a new vehicle and when I called to inquire about the price of the car tag for the specific model, they told me $1800 dollars for Greenwood. Are prices that high in other places in the state.

In Tunica I never had to pay more than $200 bucks and that's when I bought car when it was new. $1800 is ridiculous and property taxes are the same. And the mayor of Greenwood wants to know why people are leaving here in droves.

That's about right for tags on the coast as well. I believe the tag on my wife's new $30K SUV was about $1800 also. Makes me want to title my car in Alabama where a brand new car tag runs $25.

FYI, the TAG might be $25, but the TAXES will add a good bit to that.

When I was on the coast back in 2012 ,Pascagoula, the tag on a new chrysler 300c was around 600. Freaking nuts.
