Arkansas born, grew up in Jackson, now located in the west central part of Arkansas. My folks are still in central Mississippi, and the older I get the more I miss the time I spent being a kid in Belhaven.
Getting older really puts things in perspective. Although I'm Arkansan down to my toes, I surely do love the Mississippi old south ways. I still see the congeniality and the excellent manners just on this little forum and it really is a breath of fresh air for those of us who grew up knowing that 'tacky' was about the worst thing you could be. (That's true, isn't it? Mama said so!) Seems the whole world is tacky now - except for Mississippi!

I lived in MARKS, Mississippi from Fall 2003 to Late Summer 2004.
Have lived in Alabama, Florida, North Dakota, New Hampshire and now.. South Carolina since then.

I will be making a similar change in a number of days. What are the pros and cons of moving from Chicago to Mississippi in your opinion? I will reside in Olive Branch. I can't wait to get away from the hustle and bustle where everyone is always in a hurry here in the big city. I'm looking forward to a much slower pace. |
