Right off I-55 in McComb is The Dinner Bell, it is a round table or family style restrurant. Not many better places to get good ole southern home cooking and sitting at the same table as others, you will meet people you normally wouldn't.

New Orleans offers the best eating in the country. I would eat in Nola before leaving and in Memphis when i arrive. I wouldn't worry about eating in MS.

Exactly. We only eat at Middendorf's when we are late getting out of the hotel. Although the gumbo is as good or better than any I have had in NOLA.

Natchez, you definitely want to visit Natchez. Beautiful, history, haunted. Lots of music. Loads of culture. Kind of odd.
