Default Info on the Aberdeen area?

I am looking at a job in the Aberdeen area and was wondering about decent housing and so forth. Where would you recommend living for convenient access to shopping, medical and so forth? Would like to stay within a 30 minute drive if possible. No kids so schools are not an issue. We actually prefer a somewhat rural setting as we now live on 5 acres but don't necessarily need or want that much land if we move. Any input would be appreciated.

If you want to stay in Monroe County, I would recommend Amory, or maybe even Hamilton; Amory is bigger and has its own hospital. Both towns are 10-20 min away from Aberdeen.

A little farther to the south, in Lowndes County, is Caledonia. Good place to live, and about a 15-20 min drive from Aberdeen. If you lived in Caledonia, you would most likely shop in Columbus.
