I posted a thread about buying a duck hole in the Delta. Well, I have received no response as of yet--it is a pretty specialized area. But I took the initiative and put the name of a city near the duck hole I was considering buying--Alligator, Miss., and lo and behold, I found a post by a young man about the area. I contacted him and he e-mailed me to talk to his Dad. I called the Dad and got all the information I needed to know about that particular duck hole and hunting leases on it. So, just want to say thanks to the forum. I can sit here in Florida and find detailed information that is helpful and needed--I decided not to buy the duck hole at the price offered. I got a first hand account of water levels, beaver/muskrat activity, cypress growth, duck flying patterns,access, and the going price for hunting leases. As an informed buyer I now knew that the duck hole was over-priced for my taste. But I also got a lead on some other land at a less expensive price. Thanks to the forum. God Bless.

I recall seeing your initial request about the "duck-hole"; however, I'd venture to guess not too many people even know what a "duck-hole" is. I'm from Cleveland, MS, just down the road from Alligator on US 61, and I'd never heard the term before. But it's great that you found someone and got the information you were searching for.
