I've passed by on the interstate hundreds of times, but recently stopped a spent a couple of hours. A very nice small town, yet close enough to the Memphis metro area that one could find decent employment. With I69 nearing completion, this will likely become a boomtown.

Aren't all suburbs boomtowns relative to the parent metropolitan area? St. Tammany Parish (northshore of Lake Ponchartrain) is booming in a sense. Yet I'd hardly call New Orleans a boom-region like Atlanta, Denver, and the major Texas cities.

Concur! It's not a boomtown or region (and never will be) in any sense compared to those areas.

I should always close "for Mississippi!"

Hernando has already grown too much for me. When we moved here in 1973 it was about 2,000 population.
Now it is over 17,000. Use to know almost everyone in town but not any more.
We are very fortunate to have low crime rate. Still a small city but hate to see the growth.

Hernando grew a lot when I lived near there 6 years ago. The problem is like a lot of towns in Desoto County, there isn't that much room for growth.

It reminds me of another Madison with all the brick buildings, but not as stringent.
