Out of Mississippi's largest cities (Jackson, Biloxi/Gulfport, Meridian, Hattiesburg, Greenville, Columbus, Tupelo or Vicksburg) which have the best job markets and overall quality of life? Thank you in advance for your input.

The only places I'd live in MS (if worried about a career/future earnings, my children and QoL) are the coast, and the areas around Hattiesburg, Tupelo, Jackson and Olive Branch/Southaven (not necessarily in any of those cites but in areas around them).

definitely not Greenville area, there are no decent jobs here. Columbus is about the same, Jackson itself you want to avoid for the crime but some of the surrounding cities are not toooo bad.

You obviously overlook the Harvard article on Columbus & the rest of the GTA.

Greenville is a hell hole. The only places for economic development are North MS, Coast and around Jackson (not Jackson itself.)

What type of work are you looking for? There are towns/cities is Mississippi that excell in different types of employment for instance Canton has the big Nissan Plant, the coast has the Casinos etc. It really depends on what type of work your looking for.

I would say Greenville and Meridian should be dead last for any jobs you consider, stay away from those cities.
