Tupelo - Gloster street? (Verona: store, car, area)

What are your thoughts about South Gloster Street in Tupelo? Namely, right off the street, not back into the residences.

Any other general information about good, bad, neutral parts of town would be appreciated.

What's wrong with Gloster?

Nothing, everything, I don't know - that's why I would like the input of knowledgable folks like yourself. Do you favor the S. Gloster area?

There was a a little bit of local controversy concerning the South Gloster area a couple of years ago after the statement was made that the area was dead relative to future development. Most new retailers are heading for the Barnes Crossing area and the mall. There are still a lot of older businesses, car dealerships, and the hospital with its satellite clinics that are doing well in the S. Gloster area.

As olden said most new business are focusing north of 78. Interstate access means a lot to the bottom line. I did notice the Napa store left for that greener pasture. They are building the new Atlanta Bread bakery on South Gloster. East Main, which is relative to South Gloster, is an excellant example of how to revive an old downtown. Although IMO it would take a major overhaul to revive the further south region of Gloster towards Verona.
