Living in Mobile doesn't accomplish my goal, which is to be further inland, away from storm surge. If I'm going to live that close to the the coast, I might as well live in Ocean Springs near my daughter and her family. No point in being far away from them if I'm still close to the water.

It doesn't become attractive in AL down that way until you pass the Bay and get into Baldwin County.

I've been told that living north of I-10 makes homeowner's insurance a little bit more reasonable too.

How long does it take you to get to work?

its 59 miles, so about a hour 10 minutes if i beat the school buses. Its not bad, take me about thirty minute to get to I 10 in grand bay. about the time im done with my pop tart and coffee and then thirty minute up i 10 to biloxi

problem is, there are so many wrecks on i 10 west of pasagoula bridge, almost daily

Youíre not going to get storm surge in Mobile unless youíre downtown right next to the water, and hardly anyone actually lives in that area since itís a business district. If you were to live in west Mobile (north of I-10) storm surge wouldn't be an issue, it would take a tsunami to reach that far.
