U of Missouri has had huge racial consternation from a period of 2010 to 2016 and they are dealing with the fallout from that over the last couple of years. It was also fueled by the Ferguson, MO incidents during that time.

Missouri misplayed the situation badly.

U of Mississippi went through 1962 and periodically since then has worked through smaller but fairly high profile issues since then. Ole Miss has to walk a tightrope between the more liberal racially sensitive factions and the old guard country club conservative faction that basically WAS Ole Miss for so many years.

Every major flagship school has this dynamic but Ole Miss' situation is more delicate do to it's past.
