Default Moving to NW Mississippi

Our family will be moving to the Desoto County area this summer.

We went for a visit a couple of weekends ago to get a feel for the different cities in that area.

My wife would like to stay near Desoto Central HS because she hears that of the high schools in that area, it is the best.

However in doing so that limits us in where we can live.

We would like a house, new or existing that sits on 1+ acres and it's hard to find in that school district.

My wife heard that Horn Lake and Southaven aren't the areas to move too.

I would like to live in the Hernando area, but don't know much about the schools there.

Any advise?

Tim

I think most of Desoto County Schools are similar. Desoto Central is new. Hernando is a small town and has such a quaint and warm feel. Homes are getting pricier all the time though.

Hi Tim!
I live within a few miles of Desoto Central High School (rated top public high school in Desoto County) The bus picks up students in front of my home. I live in a very nice, peaceful area where lots are from 1 to 2+ acres with tall trees and all home owners have access to a private lake. It is called Stonehedge and we don't have much crime in our neighborhood. I live in one of the best areas of Southaven, very close to Olive Branch. (South of Goodman Road near Tchulahoma Road). There are a lot of new homes under construction close to this area. Here is a useful web site to view homes for sale in the area:

I am not a realestate agent. If you would like additional local information, you can contact me at DASirv@aol.com

Good luck,
Dave

Default East Southaven

East Southaven is best if you can't move in Olive Branch, and Hernando is great too. All desoto county schools are supposedly the best in the state.
