How boring is Beaumont Ms?
Most of my family came from Beaumont. but I go back now and then to the cemetery where most of my family is buried. Do people really know where that is and want to live there?

I grew up just outside of Laurel and am well familiar with Beaumont and McClain. I can't speak for everyone, but I wouldn't desire to live there. I live out in the country in Northeast Tennessee, but it's mountainous and pretty and only 12 miles from downtown Johnson City. Beaumont is just a little too out there. You're practically in the middle of DeSoto National Forest.

Beaumont
I know where it is. LOL! Mainly because I drive through there from MSU to the Coast to go home. I have gotten a speeding ticket there a couple of times. It looks pretty boring riding through it, but you never know what's inside! The 25 mph speed limit on Highway 15 to ride through the town is pretty ridiculous. I've always wanted to stop at that Trudy's restaurant for some reason though.

I did not grow up there my parents did. But for some reason it looks pretty lonely/boring.

I'm very familiar with Beaumont because I was actually raised there. Back in the 80's it wasn't a bad place to live..good small town family values, etc. However I wouldn't want to live there today. My daughter's best friend lives there & listening to her tell about the things they do, i.e. riding 4-wheelers at the gravel pits, swimming & fishing at the boat ramp, walking on the old trussell, etc, it really reminds me of a much simpler time...so go figure, huh?

I was raised there also. The gravel pits were next to my house....I left Beaumont as soon as I could. Once hwy 98 went around B'mont everything pretty much died. Not much going on there. I really miss the "simple times" as well. My mother is buried in the cemetery in B'mont. I certainly would love to get back south though. Live in Richmond, VA now...much too hectic.....Chris
