Hi, We Are Making A Move To Quitman, Ms. Can Anyone Tell Me How The Elementary Schools Are And The Sports They Have There. I Was Also Wondering How The Town Is. My Husband Is Working In Waynesboro And Says That The People There Are Very Nice. I Would Appreciate Anything Anyone Has To Say , This Is A Big Move For Us And Want The Kids To Be Happy Were They Are Going. Thanks So Much To Anyone That Can Help Us With This.

It's pretty clear that she is talking about Quitman, Mississippi, being that this is the Mississippi forum, she mentioned Mississippi, and it is close to Waynesboro, Mississippi.

To the OP, I lived in Quitman for 3 years, but unfortunately I know little about it since it was the first 3 years of my life. I know it's close to Meridian, where you can find some shopping and a theater. It's a small town, so I hope you are use to that type of lifestyle.

A friend of mine bought a business just outside the Quitman city limits up CR 140. We're slowly learning about the town, so anything I learn, I'll try and pass along.

According to schooldigger.com, Quitman school district is ranked 65th in the state out of 143 districts. Ten minutes north is the Enterprise school district which covers the northern edge of Clarke County and it is rated 4th best district in the state. This is basically a rural school that happens to be very good. Wayne County school district is ranked 40th of 143 districts. Clara school in Wayne County is ranked 51 of the state's 432 elementary schools while Waynesboro is ranked 138 of 432 elementary schools in the state. Lastly, the next zone north of Enterprise is right across the line in Clarkdale in Lauderdale County. Lauderdale County district is ranked 25th in the state out of 143 districts. Clarkdale school is not rated but considered fairly good, also a rural area that happens to be about 15 minutes south of Meridian.
