New to Long Beach... looking for things to do and ways to meet other women (rentals)

Hi there. I've recently moved to Long Beach due to my other half getting a job here. We lived in Texas prior where I have a lot of family and friends.
I'm looking for things to do here and for ways to meet other women around my age group (mid 40's). I have a wide varity of interests, some traditional some a bit off the beaten path so I am open for most anything. Any suggestions?

hey i'm in my mid 20's i have family in long beach, best thing to do is find a nice lil job some where just so you can put yourself out there and meet ppl. there is plenty to do here, here i mean all long the coast. my family and i like to go flounder gigging in that area and all along the coast. there is also canoe rentals in that area as well. gulfport and biloxi is not far at all maybe 30 minutes and they have alot of ship island and cat island excursions. check out the local casino's they have live bands that play they adveritse in the paper. classic rock, country, blues all kind of stuff. the coast colliseum in biloxi always has stuff going on over there as well check them out they have fairs and stuff as well as concerts and festivals. cruising the coast is a big deal down( antique cars) here and it's coming in oct i think.there is a small dragway off canal road off I-10 near gulfport. i could go on i hope i helped let me know what your interested in.
