Someone has to stop the flow of illegal aliens
I'm from So. California, if you don't stop the Illegal Alians now you'll end-up like California. Overrun with illegal aliens and out of money! The state is near bankrupt, California has been without a budget since July 1st. We are about 15 -23 Billion (yes! BILLION) short! They want to make up the difference by upping our sales tax by 1%, our state taxes are about 7 to 9% now depending where you live in Cal.
I logged onto the Laurel city website and sent the following.
Congratulations on your recent efforts to stem the tide of illegal aliens storming across our boarders by participating in raids like that which recently occurred at Howard Industries.
I visited your laurelms.com website. Your town looks and sounds beautiful with its Historic District, and sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Much like those towns you read about and wish as a child you would have grownup there.
According to the 2000 census your population was about 20,000 of which 3.56% were identified as Hispanic. If the raid at Howard Industries involved about 600 persons the ratio must be up around 30+% now.
Living in Southern California we have for several years seen the flood of illegal immigrants come across our borders. Our school budgets have exploded, our social services overwhelmed and our hospital emergency rooms overrun or closed due to all the patients without insurance or money to pay for medical treatment. We also have seen our American way of life, our culture and historical values cast aside for the culture and way of life of those who choose to leave their country but choose to impose their culture and way of life upon us.
Your actions are a credit to the state of Mississippi and the USA.
Keep up the good work.
If you don't believe me, come to Southern California and see for yourselves what uncontrolled immigration can do to the American culture and way of life.

According to my sister, who lives there, the percentage is way more than 30% now. I do feel a little sorry for the people who are just trying to make a living for their families, but I have no sympathy for the Howards who hired them. ICE should have checked out the chicken plants while they were there too. They would have gotten a lot more.

just to add a little fact to speculation. each person that was labeled as an illegal immigrant had provided Howards a SSN which was then processed through proper channels, including homeland security. it's not fair to place all the blame on Howards.

If that's true, then why did they ship most of them off to Jena, La? Sorry but I'm just not buying that story. I saw where they arrested a few of them for improper documentation.

Another newb from S Cal here. I found this site off of a Google search about the raid.
The other Cal fellow is correct. Here is an example. I spent a weekend at a local campground and it didn't go well. Turns out some Hispanic Church group signed up for the same weekend. I couldn't communicate with what I would say were probably 80% of the people in the campground all weekend. I really felt like when I used to camp down in San Felipe.
This is becoming the norm in S Cal as some of these Cities are labeling themselves sanctuary Cities. So long as they can evade the BP they are on the fast track to free Social Services. My wife and I are debating staying in San Diego much longer. It's really gotten that bad.
Our biggest worry is getting tagged by a driver without insurance or having to wait in the ER hoping you get in before you bleed to death.

SSN CARDs

SSN cards can be purchased on many street corners and city parks in So. Cal. There have been cases where a single SSN was being used by hundreds of people. Sure the employer goes through the proper channels, but those charged with doing the checking are so overwhelmed that by the time they begin to trace these SSN's the person has bought a different SSN card and moved to a different job.
It goes like this; work at a job for a few months while living 10 - 20 people to a house, send most of the money home to Mexico, move to another job or go back to your village in Mexico until you need more money, cross the border back into the USA , buy a SSN card (start over again).
They have learned how to work our system to their advantage. Mexico's biggest source of $$ is oil, second is $$ sent home by those working outside Mexico, then comes the tourism $$. I think in 2007 the money sent home was something like 20 - 30 Billion.

They should have been doing these raids nationwide years ago.

If an employer really wanted to know if his workers were legal, he would have his supervisors spread a rumor of a raid happening the next day.
I suspect he wouldn't do this because he knows many of his workers would be absent.
poor, innocent , employer ?
I doubt it !
