iam living like iam a homeless person right now because the city and attornies refuse to jail these slumblords.i have no window panes they are broke and tped up with duct tape .my doors are either screwed into the walls or boarded up .ny floors are so cold i have to wear two pairs of sock and shoes.sometimes to bed to keep warm. the city i live in has violated this slumblord so many time i have forgotten how many years back.and all he gets is violations no jail no money paid on these fine or anything just freedom to continue to rent these properties, iam waitng to hear from them as i write.the slumblord is so good at lieing he has the entire department eating out of his hand.

I live in Jackson, and you can expect to pay anywhere from $90-$110 / sq ft if you're looking to buy, and that's in the nice areas. There are certainly houses for sale for much less than that, but most of them are in less desirable locations. When I was house shopping, I did find a nice 2,000 sq ft house for $150k, and it was completely renovated and in a good area. I didn't get my financing together quick enough though, and it sold a few days before I could make an offer on it. Those finds are rare, but they do pop up from time to time. I know there is one house in my neighborhood right now that is 3 BR/1.5 bath with a huge deck in the backyard for less than $150k. Its only drawback is it is near a somewhat busy street, but it's still a steal.
