Newly married and in Tupelo,MS
My husband and I just got married this summer and we have located to Tupelo,MS area. Any hidden secrets, places to eat, visit etc that aren't one of the chain places everyone knows about? I have lived in Mississippi my entire life so I know every town has hidden secrets! Suggestions about Tupelo would be great for anyone who knows the area!

Hardin's Country Store in Eggville has a huge double cheeseburger that beats Wendy's all to heck and back. Then there's Romy's off of Gloster that's good too.

If you know where Crosstown is, where WalGreens & BurgerKing at Main Street (where the train will catch you and you'll learn to love it heehee), then go north on Gloster street, headed towards the new part of Tupelo (the mall ect). At Jackson Street turn left and it's right there. Not hard to find at all. And I think I misspelled it...It's Romies. Spellcheck forsaketh me!!!

The nicest non-chain restaurant that I know of in Tupelo is Park Heights. They are on Main St, next to the Hilton and in front of the Bancorp South center. Elegant atmosphere, outstanding food and great service. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it, especially for a birthday or anniversary.

we do love harveys and the grill but have never tried park heights! (we went to school in starkville so we were lucky enough to have a grill, harveys, and peppers) I can't wait to try it and yes we will wait until a special occasion arrives since you say its expensive! Thanks!

We visited Tupelo about a month ago and our friends took us to Vanelli's. It's a Greek/Italian restaurant that has awesome food! I also agree with Romie's. We went there as well. I recommend the butterflied pork chop!
