Default Muddy Waters..

Bessie Smith had a song called Muddy Waters where she talked about missing the Mississippi floods
Is it possible that Muddy Waters a.k.a. McKinley Morganfield, heard this song as a boy and took his stage name from it? I'd like your noble opinion as Mississippians
love
Mark

As he's no longer around to tell us, go read this, make up your own mind: Muddy Waters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It appears his blues name had nothing to do with the Mighty Mississippi and the 1927 Flood.
