Looking for architectural salvage, demolition and junk shops
My husband builds birdhouses using lots of old hardware and salvaged wood. We are always on the search for a deal on any sort of embellisment he can use. Old door knobs, skeleton keys, old tin (especially ceiling tin) and wood. Old furniture with spindles and molding are great. Furniture can be broken and hardware can be aged and rusted. Actually old and aged is better. We have a truck and will travel for the right price and quanity. We live in Southeast Mississippi.

Oh my goodness...here in Jackson, there is the Old House Depot. Here is their website with pictures!
Old House Depot They are located across the street from the coliseum, in a large warehouse that is filled to the brim with salvage. FABULOUS stuff!!! I could stay in there all day! And the owner is very nice and helpful. Prices are reasonable and there is always something new when I go. Going there this week in search of an iron garden bench. Hope this helps! I bet your hubby's birdhouses are gorgeous!

I LOVE those birdhouses! They are gorgeous! Too bad ya'll don't live closer...he would do great selling them at the Main Street Farmer's Market here in Clinton.

Hey, I found the Old House Depot while doing an online search for salvaged materials. But, I can't get it to open. Do you know if the site has been shut down? I really wanted to see some of the pics. Do you know if they have any really old vintage doors? Thanks
