Red face I don't want to offend anyone, but does Mississippi really still have the KKK?

Hello, I don't want to offend anyone but I was watching this documentary of The National Geographic Channnel and it said that the KKK still holds meeting and ceremonies in Mississippi and across the south. My aunt who currently lives in Mississippi said the KKK is on the rise. I just wanted to know how true this was.

There's Moderator cut: language please everywhere. I see (and hear from relatives) a lot more racism in Michigan than around here.

Mississippi has the highest black population of any state in the nation (majority in many parts), I seriously doubt they're intimidated by the KKK.

On 12/1/2007 you asked " Are there intergrated neighborhoods in Mississippi?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm from Wisconsin, and my parents are from Mississippi, and I noticed there is not alot of intergrated neighborhoods in Mississippi. Why not? I'm having reservations about even moving down to Mississippi in the future. What about the school systems? Are blacks and whites friends in Mississippi. Wow, I was really shocked."

Didn't you get any answers then?
Are you trolling?

Ministers I hate to break it to you but Wisconsin is the home to the Klan and a few other hate groups too.

National Socialist Movement - Neo-Nazi -WI
Aryan Nations - Neo-Nazi Appleton, WI
National Socialist Movement - NSM Neo-Nazi Green Bay, WI
Brotherhood of Klans Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Hurley, WI
Christian Guard Christian Identity Kenosha, WI
Nation of Islam Black Separatist Milwaukee, WI
National Socialist Movement Neo-Nazi Milwaukee, WI
New Order Neo-Nazi Milwaukee, WI
United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Monroe, WI
White Revolution Neo-Nazi Union Grove, WI

The Southern Poverty Law Center tracks hate groups around the country.
To find the known hate groups in a state check their map at
SPLCenter.org: Hate Groups Map

I've lived in MS for a year now and have not seen or heard of any hate activity. I'm not saying it's not there. I'm just saying I haven't seen it.

JANICE WIGGINS is on a distinguished road
yeah, but most people of all colors dislike them. They are active in several states including northern states as well. They are more active in Louisiana than in MS. They are even in NYC. There will always be extremist of some sort in the world, we just cannot let them think they will ever exceed in obtaining their stupid goals whatever they may be. We still have people who kill in the name of God throughout history, hopefully someday all this will change, but I do not expect it to change not in my lifetime. As Martin Luther King, Jr. "We shall overcome". I believe this pertains to all races when it comes to the ignorance of some people.

Where are you??? MS is just like any other place. We have mixed neighborhoods, we have integrated schools since the 60s and the 70s. Some of my best friends are black, some of my best schoolteachers are black and one of the best boss ladies I ever had is black. You have not seen Mississippi lately have you? Ja
