The movie takes place in a small racist MS town, which like the show is Sparta, MS. (but it was filmed in Illinois)

Hey, I'll be making my decisions and reaching my own conclusions about your good state when I visit next year.

To the fine people of Mississippi: I'm planning on retiring and moving to Mississippi this fall, I
was thinking Oxford, is there any place to fish around Oxford?
Thank You

Absolutely. Sardis Lake is only 20 minutes from Oxford, Enid Lake is 45 minutes, Arkabutla and Grenada Lakes are 1 hour 15 minutes, and Trace State Park is less than an hour.

Oxford is one of the nicest places in the state to live no doubt. Beautiful rolling hills, Lakes all around, Memphis is only an hour and a half away, Tupelo is a cool little trip.

I had a friend who was AA and 92 years old living in La. I invited him to visit here and he declined. Being black, I think that it was sad because he died not knowning and seeing first hand the progress made concerning race relationships in MS. People all over the world are the same, even in their thinking patterns. I know because I experience it first hand, so people need to lay off of MS and stop feeding into the fears of the pass.
