Default Ole Miss vs Mississippi State - which is more popular statewide?

Roughly what percent of sports fans in MS root for Ole Miss, MS State, or Southern Miss?

All of them except those who root for 'bama.

Mississippi is not a hegemony. Plenty of people here were part of the crimson tide.

Lots of Spartan and Wolverine shirts too.

In northern MS, it's a pretty even split between State and Ole Miss. USM fans make up less than 1% of the population.

If I had to guess, I would say MS State and Ole Miss are pretty even at both being around 40%, then Southern is next with about 15%, and the rest are fans of either out-of-state teams or different conference teams.

For me, it's Maroon & White all year long! Go Bulldogs!!!

I mean, we are the only MS team that made it to the NCAA Basketball Tournament!

Ole Miss rules...it's the epitome of a traditional Old South college, yet on the cutting edge of education. The debates have really given it a new found appreciation as well. Anyone in Miss will tell you with an Ole Miss degree, "your in" for any kind of job in MS...it yours for the taking (Unless the hiring manager is a USM or MSU fan). An Ole Miss degree bods well for the Southeast in general too! So in my opinion, 80% Ole Miss...20% all other!
Go Ole Miss!

And as you can tell, if you want an honest answer, dont ask an Ole Miss fan...

The Delta State women's basketball team is headed to the Elite 8 in San Antonio this weekend. I don't like to nit-pick but they are NCAA Division II.

I rarely see a USM shirt or license plate. At least in this area it is Ole Miss, Memphis, Miss St., Arkansas and all others in that order. And some days I will see more folks sporting AR gear than MS St. Go Hogs!!!!

I did not know that, thanks for the correction. That's impressive, good job Delta State!

Not that I'm a fan. They just happened to beat my Arkansas - Monticello Cotton Blossoms 4 times this season. Twice in Gulf South conference play. Once for the Gulf South tournament championship held here in Southaven.

I wouldn't be surprised if they win it all. With half of the team 6ft or taller they are a force in DII.
