Recently my wife was staying with her parents that live near Indianola. She drove into Indianola in our Green Convertible Sebring and was pulled over not once, but twice, apparently a local drug dealer owns the same type of car and same color.

My wife went to Indianola to get supper from the local Sonic. The cops pulled in behind her, made her get out of the car. Made my mother-in-law get out of the car (she's paralyzed on the left side from a stroke). Searched the car (found nothing) and warned her, that if she ever returns to Indianola they would take her to jail (just to harass her). And for the final straw they ticketed my car for not getting out of the way of an Emergency Vehicle, even though the car was in Starkville (about 100 miles away).

Needless to say, STAY AWAY FROM INDIANOLA, MS

I had heard Indianola had gotten pretty bad. They need the tax revenue and they've turned their second-string law enforcement loose on the world- especially if you don't have a Sunflower County tag!

I drive through Indianola all the time and dread it because the people there all drive 5-10 miles per hour UNDER the speed limit. I guess I now know why. I've no problems to report thankfully.

I had not heard about travelers being harrassed here and we have many out-of-town return visitors that I know of personally that love Indianola, our local restaurants & bars and the world-class BBKing Museum. They keep coming back and we are grateful and try to make everyone's stay a pleasant & fun one. I will say, however, that the DUI goons will find a reason to pull folks over until they find someone to haul in. Perhaps they're trying to pay for the gas for their new Tahoes. Whatever the reason, PLEASE find a Designated Driver, this is not the place to drink & drive. We could use a good taxi service for sure.

No.

If this is true, then we need to bite the police back.

plant cameras and voice recorders in the car. Drive under the same conditions the lady did. When cops pull you over, let them search. Then when they tell you to get out of town, feign obedience. Go home.
