Default Mississippi Health

I want to know if anyone has experience environmental racism in the towns/cities and the use of toxic fertilizer on agricultural areas. For instance, I have been reading that an area of Louisiana is so toxic that the people are suffering from cancer from the surrounding chemical plants; thereby, causing the area to be know as " cancer alley". Also, I read that many industries are selling toxic waste as fertilizers. I want to know if these effects are happening to Mississippi.

On another subject, I want to know more about the smaller towns in the state of Mississippi , and the impact of development to the areas.

Maybe it's all those toxic corn fertilizers flowing down the Mississippi river from states like Iowa and Illinois? I'm not bashing midwestern states, but everything that gets washed into into the river up there eventually ends up in Louisiana and Mississippi, and then the gulf. The area in Louisiana you spoke of could be suffering from their own chemicals with the chemicals of other states added to it, a double whammy.

I believe southernnaturelover just gave the perfect example of how the northern states commit environmental racism upon the good folks of the South.

Have you thought about trying the Louisiana forum and talking with them about their experiences? I bet they would really appreciate your input.
