Don May is on a distinguished road
Default Hunting Lease Information/ Desoto County

I have 40 acres of heavily forested land on Wheeler Road just south of Hernando, adjoining Arkabutla Lake, approximately 35 miles from Memphis.

I am wondering if any of you could inform me as to how I could lease this land to a group of hunting enthusiasts, and what kind of rent could I expect.

I have heard that my land is a deer crossing...it has about a 500 feet of frontage on Wheeler, then goes all the way back to the Arkabutla Reservoir.

Thanks,

Don

As I read it, Dan's post is asking how to lease land. Yes you could dm him if you wanted to lease and possibly move in that direction.

I have also posted a similar post because I don't know anything about it either. I held of on posting in the classified section because I am not ready or prepared to lease because I still do not have a clear understanding.

What I have learned is that you should have a detailed lease, the hunter should have insurance, in case he hurts someone or him/her self. That land with a structure as part of the lease is more valuable then vacant land. The lease time can vary along with the number of people.

The most important is that you remember it's your land and as the owner set the terms clearly.

To learn more an owner can call sport shops and local Realtors for their advice.

In my opinion this is a gray post and I guess if the first paragraph was not included it would be more objective then subjective.

I don't feel it should be deleted, if it was moved to the classified he might not get any advise.

I believe he can edit the post himself and possibly remove the first paragraph.

Just a thought.

No no - my post has nothing to do with the OP, it refers to a series of ad posts that someone posted after his that have since been deleted. I will kindly ask that my post be deleted as well since it is now n/a.
