Five bedrooms! Are you sure you need that many? Can't a couple of the kids room together? Even going down to 4-bedrooms opens up a lot of possibilities. Anyway, I'm checking the Clarion-Ledger for some homes around the Jackson metro area. To give you an idea:

-- A 3-bedroom sitting on 5 acres in Florence, under $190,000, 601-942-1605.
-- A 5-bedroom in Northeast Jackson, no price listed, 832-9999.
-- A 5-bedroom in Ridgeland, $299,000, 601-954-2614
-- A 4-bedroom in Madison, $163,000, 601-497-4214
-- And a mansion that comes complete with 2 cottages, barn, pond, and office for the low low price of $895,000 in Forest, 601-856-9742

yeah, we need that much space...right now we have a 4bedroom home, with bonus media room...total of 2800+sqft on almost 2 acres....so we want to have that much footage or more, plus the extra bedroom now because we'll be moving away from our family, so we'll need a guest room/office area for what i'm sure will be MANY visits....most of the 5 bedrooms we saw were on less than an acre...we'd like to find one with a pool, but if we can't, we'd like to be able to put one in...thus need for more land area...if not in madison, i hear that brandon is nice and growing and has good schools like madison.....aaahhh if only i could afford a mansion, i'd get a puppy! is florence relatively near nissan? my husband will be going down there in a few weeks to help them out...they REALLY want him to transfer down there, but it's got to be worth our pain to uproot and move to what will be our ENDING place....thank you very much for the info!!!!! anyone know any great realtors? ones that would work for me and not try to unload us to a lemon or drag us around to houses we wouldn't want????

Check out the Old Agency Road area in Ridgeland. Many, many 5 bedroom homes. Look at Bridgewater, Hillview, Canterbury, Dinsmore, etc.

What price range are you looking for? I know where there is a brand new 6000 sq ft, 5 br house with land that is absolutely beautiful. I'm not a realtor, by the way. I just know the person who owns it.

Forest is a haul. Gorgeous area though with the pines. Sounds wonderful the mansion place. You can get that kind of deal in Vicksburg with less land, a bit farther though 40, 50 miles.
