Default Don't want to live on the beach

Hello Folks. I'll be moving from Michigan to Mississippi within the next couple months. I'll be working in Bliloxi but living on the beach really doesn't appeal to me. I'm only 28 but am really into the simple life and small town atmosphere. I'd appreciate any recommendations for towns nearby biloxi (within 30 miles) that would suit me better. Thanks.

I'd suggest Ocean Springs or Bay St. Louis, both these towns are on the water but you should be able to find housing that isn't close to the shoreline, and it'll be cheaper the further inland you are. They are both very nice towns, I personally like Ocean Springs the best but that's just my opinion. Stay away from Moss Point and Pascagoula, I've heard the crime around there is pretty bad. Maybe someone who is more local can help.

I also think Bay St. Louis is a beautiful little place, but I think I'd be looking north of I-10 for hurricane safety reasons. Saucier or Vancleave might be worth looking at.

OHHHHH another Michigander!!! All of the cities will give you a small town feel because all of the cities are small town...You don't have to live ON the beach...but you don't want to live so far out that there's nothing around (such as Saucier) BSL is too far to be working in Biloxi (in my opinion)

There is nothing on the coastline you can live at and not have the "beach" feel to it. The only thing i can recommend for you is Moss Point of Pascagoula. You may can find a spot in Ocean Springs. I haven't been in that city since Pre-Katrina
