Well, I'm in the final stage of this long process. Completed my interview on Thursday, the 17th. Also filled out papers to authorize the background check and finished the drug screen. The interviewers said that hiring will continue all spring and summer long, up until October. The tradgedy in Japan should not effect the start-up date in October. If anything, there will be more opportunity to produce more vehicles at a greater pace, which in laymen terms means possibly lots of overtime in the initial stages of start-up. Those of you that have not received a call after waiting such a long time after interviewing should realize that the department you are scheduled to work in is not ready to receive you for training as of yet. Be patient. There are hundreds of new employess to bring on board and train. Your time will come, just don't give up. You have no idea how incredible this opportunity will be. Meanwhile, my ears are finely tuned for the ring of the phone! Come on.....Phone!!!......let me hear that beautiful sound of opportunity!

Are you telling me that it takes months to let someone know if they passed a computer test ? Send a rejection letter or extend a job offer ? I'm glad that you have had a good experience but that doesn't excuse the fact of what Toyota is doing to people before hire. After 8 months I have exactly no more of an idea of what is going on than I did 15 minutes after filling out the online application except that I have spent my time and money going through this ridiculously long drawn out process. Very unprofessional and unorganized. I'm glad that your first 5 weeks has gone well, but you may soon find out that the honeymoon is over when production starts. Good luck to you sir
stuckgaspedal: It stinks that your experience hasn't been pleasant. It's also bothersome how everyone in this forum seems to band together to attack someone when they don't agree with that person's post. I really hope that when I work with you folks, you are less judgmental and ready to except people's difference of opinion.

I'm with you JCB075. I interviewed on March 10 and wait through each day to hear that phone call come in. After nearly a year on unemployment with only a 3 month temporary position this is something I desperately need.
