Like I was saying before... alot of people quit ecause it is not what they expected!!! This factory work is no where similar to others out there. Quit yes, because they can't get their heads around the "TOYOTA WAY" and to the poster that mention about copying the good USA way of production, Toyota does not come close to using that way. They have their own and have done very well with it.

With the current situation of parts fron Japan, Toyota still have managed to keep people busy in some way or another. To add that 85-90% of parts are us made and this is close to The big three as well, so to say its not a made in the Good old USA is going a little far.

As for getting people hired quick because for Oct production remember that there won't be 2 shifts right away, so the 2000 needed will be for 2 shifts. Don't be surprised to see production at the plant at only 50% to start as parts will be sent toplants that need it rght away. Parts have already been sent to other plants that were to go to Mississippi.

Like i said before 100-300 people quit or get let go in the first few months of hire because its not close to what they thought. You think the simulation was hard wait to the line work actually happen!!!

This makes great sense. I just can't fathom people quiting a job in a down economy. I can truley attest to the USA way of working is lax. GM for instance has dealt with people who have not put out production because of people who hide behind unions. I know for a fact that their are people who went to work at US factories (GM,Ford) with retrictions and dressed like they were going to a fashion show. I don't blame Toyota for expecting more than what GM has put up with for years. This is not to shun all GM workers but I know of mannnnnnnny people who used GM for years. Thanks for the insight.

I have heard that they are going to slow down hiring tremendously from now until after the shut down week in July. So it may be then before any of us that are waiting on the next step hears something.

thanks you, thank god I have a job already. It took 6 months to get a rejection letter, unbelieveable. What I found out today, that hireright knows if you passed your interview as soon you finished with your drugtest. They make everyone seem like you passed day 2 and invite you to the interview process to keep you with your hopes up high, so you wouldn't call hireright and toyota. If you notice the ones who are durning day 2 now, are getting hired much faster than the ones before x-mas. Toyota has a weekly list for who they call for a physical and who they call for them to start every monday of the week. could be 30 people one monday and the following monday could be 100 people. Right now people, the only people you can half-way trust, is the one from this forum being hired. Their are your eyes and ears inside this plant, if you can rely on them finding out detail hiring information for you. BE BLESSED
