i want to see snow!
Hey, i'm not really sure where to post this, so i guess i will just do it here! I am from Mississippi so obviously we NEVER see good snow! my daughter is 3 and has seen it one time when she was 2 and didn't like it very much...however I want my daughter and my step son to see some real snow, like snow you can have fun in. Where can i go around january to see some good snow that isn't like a 3 day drive from here? does anyone know? my dad lives in georgia about 5 miles from north carolina, so we could just go there, but it doesn't ALWAYS snow there every year. Any suggestions would be great...thanks!

It's a three day drive, but Pennsylvania is beautiful in December and January. Maybe Virginia.

Spend one winter in Minnesota. You will never want to see snow again for the rest of your life!

Keep checking the news and you'll find plenty in Birmingham. I remember one year there was like a foot dumped overnight!

But the historic average annual snowfall for Birminham is only 1.9 inches.
In a day and a half you can be in central Minnesota.
I'll show you snow in winter and even let you take as much back with you as you want

Anywhere between Cleveland and Buffalo along lake Erie and you'll 110% for sure you'll see plenty!!
Or, the SE curve of Lake Michigan (east of Chicago) for sure too!

It's not all that exciting, but why not take a look in OK, or in KS? I know that Missouri gets some too.
I would say that the closest that you will get to a place that always gets snow is West Virginia. Not very close, but if you are going to Western NC, you won't be too far.
I've lived in Montreal, and now Buffalo (Buffalo gets no snow compared to Montreal) and I can tell you, it gets tiring after about a month, although, I can't imagine a year without any.
Either way, good luck, and greetings from Buffalo, to your beautiful state! I have always loved Mississippi, and always will. Great culture, and friendliest people (not to mention the Southern Belles )
