Moving to Pascagoula??
Hi Everyone,
I just received a job offer that would require my moving to Pascagoula. I’ve been having some trouble getting info on this city. I need to find an apartment and get settled-in before I start my new job in a couple weeks. Can anyone tell me where a good place to live is? I don’t mind having to commute into Pascagoula if I have to. Also, a big concern I have is being able to adhere to a specific diet that I must be on due to an illness. It would be most convenient to be near a Whole Foods type grocery store to get the foods I need. Any information you have will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jenny

Well you can try getting a place here in Lucedale. There really isn't a wholelot of fast food. There are a couple but we have some regular stores to. We have a walmart that has a fairly nice food section and a Wayne Lees and a Save-altot. Its about a 20 minute commute from here to Pascagula. We have a couple of apartments here that are nice. One of them is a fenced in area that you have to have a code to get into. I don't know a whole lot about Pascagula but what I've seen of it I wouldn't want to live there...Just my 2 cents. Good luck and congratulatons on finding a job down there.

Welcome to Pascagoula! I wouldn't live there....and I was born in Pascagoula and grew up in town. Since the hurricane came through in 2005....Pascagoula has gone downhill. I would suggest Ocean Springs or anywhere in North Jackson County or Lucedale even. Pascagoula does have a Super Walmart as well as Ocean Springs and Lucedale. Just my opinion.

You should live in Ocean Springs. The only Whole Foods I know of there is in New Orleans. Pascagoula is the pit of the gulf coast. I lived in Biloxi the past 8 years before moving to Colorado. Check out Thunders Tavern and you will see some "interesting people" for sure on the weekends.

If you had been on the Mississippi coast after Katrina, you wouldn't be saying that.

I would never (again) be so stupid as to buy something "nice" from walmart (ie clothes that cost more than 4 bucks or any appliance with a warranty) but I really don't understand this whole "boycott wal-mart" thing. Yeah, it sucks that walmart sells nothing but chinese stuff - but it's not wal-mart's fault things were allowed to get to this point. Boycotting wal-mart is blaming the genie for granting your ill conceived wishes. How you gonna get a 89 dollar air conditioner made in america while paying those americans a living wage?
Whole Foods is no better than wal-mart: they also refuse to allow workers to unionize, and their employees are very low paid. Given the very profitable product line they sell, this makes their practices relatively MORE corrupt than wal-mart.
