I lived in Pines on the Bay for two and a half years. It's reasonably priced and quiet. I enjoyed living there. It's off of Popps Ferry road on Atkinson Rd, probably about a mile from Keesler. The apartments are older but the management is very good and responsive. I would steer clear of a lot of the complexes on Pass Road. I've had a couple of friends live in the Arbor view (?) Arbor something (?) apartments in D'Iberville and they seemed to like it. That would be about a 20 minute drive to Kessler. Lagniappe of Biloxi also seems nice and is a few miles from Keesler. But it is on the opposite side of the Popps Ferry Bridge, so you would have some delays when the bridge is up. Hope that helps.

Thank you for that info. We will have to look into that one. Our main concern is staying in a safe place because of our small kids and an apartment that has a short lease, since we are only going to be there for about 6 months. Overall, we can't wait. Any suggestions on restaurants, etc.?

I know Pines on the Bay has a six month lease because that is what I did when I first moved there. It's very quiet and safe. Most of the residents are older. there are also some families. It's on a quiet, residential road between single family homes and a nursing home.
Lots of good restaurants in the area! I'm not a seafood fan but you will find plenty of seafood places. My favorite restaurant was Lookout 49 in Gulfport but there are a number of good places in Biloxi, right around Keesler.

Arbor Place apartments are nice. They had a waiting list when I moved to Biloxi (but this was 2007 when the rental market was still really tight due to Katrina). My only caution with them is that you will have to deal with the Popps Ferry bridge being up a lot, which is kind of a pain. Most of the apartments off Popps Ferry road are nice and the area is very nice.
I would avoid the Lexington. They look like really nice apartments and I considered them myself at one point but I know someone who wasn't happy there. Also, there was a murder there last year, which could happen anywhere, but it still would make me a little nervous. This complex is right off Pass road. Since this is kind of the main drag between biloxi and Gulfport, it tends to be congested and not the quietest area.

Horseyjen: Thanks once again! Yeah I was wondering about the bridge situation, it did look like an inconvenience just judging off the map. Arbor did seem safe because of the gated access.
jackbauer247: I am not sure. But here is a site to help you with your search.
