Default help is needed .......

I have been thinking of this for several years, and now since I lost my home and living in apartment it time for a change for my family and myself. I was thinking for awhile of moving to California, but that place is a mess and is not even a consideration for me anymore. I have visited Mississippi several times and feel in love with the entire state. I have a place in my heart for Coahoma County. I am here to get all of your opinions about how it is to live there with a family I have a 4 year old son and his education and safety is my main concern, as well as my wifes she is of hispanic descent and how are mixed races welcomed in this area? I await your opinions Thank you very much for you help

You might consider Cleveland, Mississippi which is just 35 miles or so down the road from Clarksdale/Coahoma County.

Cleveland is in the heart of the Delta, if that's the experience you are looking for, and is blessed with the presence of Delta State University which probably adds some diversity, to which you seemed to be referring. Cleveland seems very prosperous and safe.

Clarksdale seems to have three distinct parts: a run-down section, a middle of the road section that seems somewhat safe, and the section around the country club which is really nice.

If you check schooldigger.com, it says Cleveland's school district is ranked 73rd of 138 districts and Clarkdale is 130th of 138. However, Clarksdale has a very nice private school.
