Does anyone know anything about the new apartment complex in southaven,ms called Civic Center East. It seems very nice. I would like some feedback. Is there a lot of crime in Southaven? I have a child going in to the 9th grade as well as one going in to 6th grade. They would be in Desoto middle and Desoto Central. Any feedback on those two schools? I am looking for honest feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

DeSoto Central is ranked 12th of 246 high schools in Mississippi. I believe the Civic Center apartments are next to the DeSoto County coliseum and satellite location of Northwest Communty College and Ole Miss, which is pretty good area as apartments go.

I had family spend almost a year in those apartments without incident.

Crime in Southaven is very low compared to most places but you still have to be careful. There is spillover from Memphis. Most are robberies where the perp attempts to get back into Memphis. The idiots don't understand that the state line doesn't stop our police from chasing them.

I live very close to the Desoto Central schools. I don't have kids there but the ones I interact with in my neighborhood are all intelligent and well behaved. I do support the school on their fund drives as well. I have given to the band and the baseball team every time I see them out collecting money or selling raffle tickets at Kroger.
