Don't miss the chance to live in Greenwood. There are safe parts, and you can probably afford them. One drive down Grand Boulevard should be enough to convince you. Plenty of fine old homes to choose from. I'm imagining there's a 1920s Bungalow, on a great street, waiting for you to come along and give it a bit of TLC.

There is some big money in the town, and there are many highly cultivated people, with a lot of business moxy. The kids, of course, will have to go to private schools. The rest of the Delta was in awe of Greenwood, because of the seriously big money there (big, by Mississippi standards, of course...not by Greenwich, Connecticut standards).

Greenwood is better than Cleveland (The College Town). Greenwood has a unique downtown area. Greenwood has a great shopping area, and the people in the town a very nice. Every place has their bad place. You can not go to one town that does not have a place that a truck need to run over! Delta State is the only thing that makes Cleveland or should I say put Cleveland on the map. Greenwood do not have a College in the town but MVSU is about 7 miles from Greenwood and it is a nice place to live!

If your husband has to work in Greenwood, I suggest for you to check out North Greenwood (affluent part of town), Cleveland (college town in the Delta), and Grenada.

All of these towns are not that far especially North Greenwood. In North Greenwood or right before you cross Yazoo River into that town, there are beautiful, spacious condos on River St. near Leflore Hospital and Krystal's fast food restaurant.

I highly suggest Grenada. Both Grenada High School and Kirk Academy are excellent schools. It's only 40 minutes drive to Greenwood for your husband. Grenada Lake and its parks for recreational opportunities is a plus!

If you prefer to stay in Greenwood, you should check out private school for your children because public schools in the Delta are awful! Anyway, I believe the school is called Pillar Academy.

I hope this helps and welcome to northern Mississippi!
