Hey all,

A couple Thanksgivings ago, I was privileged to taste a heritage turkey. It was so much better than store-bought! I'd like to recreate that experience here in Missoula, but am having a hard time finding a farm that raises bronze, bourbon red, or other similar breeds. Anyone out there have any tips? And don't tell me to shoot a wild one up here in Grant Creek; I've already inquired about that (and was told no) Thanks!

You may want to talk to the folks at the Good Food Store, they may be able to find a local source for you even if they don't carry them. There are these folks too (link below), but it's still not too late to order what you want online. Montana hasn't gotten developed very much in the good food department or jobs situation. Lots of ticky tacky giant cracker boxes going up and being filled with folks who desire fine foods they can't get here. Welcome to Montucky.

Or, you could try: Porters' Rare Heritage Turkeys from Big Timber Montana.

Google is your friend, especially in Montana.
