Doubting, just looked at you pic. What a beautiful family! Your boys look like a blast. Cutie pies & fun loving I bet. I raised 2 boys & even though I wanted a girl, gotta say we had so much fun. They taught me not to be so "female" & I gave them sensitivity. Tell your boys I said their the most handsome guys I've seen in a long while!

Born and raised Mo baby. but most of my neighbor's are fom cali now. Most are good, one thinks i'm crazy. The best advice I can give you is look 'em in the eye, be honest and help when needed. And avoid "Back home we" sentences. Also I'm falling in love with your house. Sound like there's a lot of history there. Anytime you need anything I'll be here

No problem.
Yeah it seems most of those who I find out are moving from Ca. to Mo. are moving to the southern part and most often the SW part of the state. I don't blame you for not saying the town believe me! I don't mention mine openly either because it's small enough.

I'm going to have to get to visit down south and check it out one of these months. My hubby has family in Joplin, he's been but I haven't yet. We just moved back here (NW) in June after being gone for about 6 years and having lived in NW Mo. for 2 years before. I like my neighbors but the town we chose this time is a little too in a hurry for my taste. I like life a little more relaxed and laid back. I love my house though so I'm staying. The fine, old architecture in this state still fills me with awe.

Have you explored any of the really old towns yet?

Doubtful, I've mainly been to the NW towns. Bethany, Trenton, Chillicothe, St. Joe (my fave so far as buildings go to date), Gallatin, Marceline, Albany, S*****rd (teeny but I love the setting so much), Sedalia, Little bit of KC, and all the places in between. So I'm sure I'm missing a lot!

We are making a trip down to Joplin sometime this fall if things go right by any chance. Haven't had much time to go exploring yet but I am open for suggestions. I'd love to see everything.

Then you need to go to the eastern part of the state!
Sainte Genevieve is the oldest town in the state, stuffed full of 18th century buildings. Its charming, there are lots of shops, restaurants, and several top-notch wineries.
Hermann and the wine country surrounding it is also very charming!
Historic downtown St Charles is wonderful, love that area!

Just looking for a place that has milder winters than Minnesota.

I would still spend from May 1 til Nov 1 in Minnesota.

Those 6 months are great in Minnesota.

SoutherN MO/ northern Arkansas is a 1 day drive from Minnesota.
